第108屆法國網球公開賽女單決賽，頭號種子小威廉絲（Serena Williams）6-3、6-7(2)、6-2力克捷克左手將薩法洛娃（Lucie Safarova），拿下了個人生涯裡的第三法網冠軍，這也是她職業生涯裡的第20座大滿貫女單冠軍獎盃。

上演本屆法網的第四場大逆轉之後，小威帶病重回法網決賽，第13種子薩法洛娃首次打進大滿貫單打決賽。兩人職業生涯裡有過8次碰面，美國黑珍珠取得了全部8場比賽的勝利。

這場女單決賽過程可謂曲折驚險，小威在第二盤浪費了4-1的領先優勢，被薩法洛娃連追4局，經由搶七局扳平，不過小威在決勝盤克服了自己狀態波動所帶來的困擾，最後時刻連拿6局，鎖定勝局。

實現了大滿貫21連勝之後，小威進一步捍衛了自己世界第一的寶座，將與第二位間的積分優勢擴大到4421分，而輸球的薩法洛娃也將在下周公佈的最新一期世界排名中，首次進入單打前十。

回顧小威本屆法網的奪冠歷程，一直受到感冒困擾，7戰有5場打滿三盤，其中還包括4場先輸一盤的大逆轉取勝，小威的大心臟和王者霸氣展露無遺。
