據《華盛頓郵報》報導，老將皮爾斯（Paul Pierce）基本確定不會退役了！唯一的懸念就是他如何在巫師和快艇「二選一」中作選擇。
巫師在季後賽第二輪被老鷹淘汰，37歲皮爾斯表示很有可能會選擇退役。過去1個多月，據一位熟悉皮爾斯情況的消息人士透露，他決定再戰1年。
皮爾斯下賽季的合約為薪資554萬美元的球員選項，他有權利在6月底跳出這最後1年的合約。從目前的消息來看，皮爾斯只會在巫師、快艇間做出最終的選擇。
本賽季皮爾斯出戰73場季賽，平均上場26.2分鐘，11.9分4.0籃板2.0助攻；季後賽中，皮爾斯發揮極其重要的作用，多次上演絕殺或準絕殺。如果他選擇留在巫師，可以選擇跳出合約，再跟巫師簽下超過550萬美元的1年合約，也讓巫師在2016年夏天保持了薪資空間的靈活性。
加盟快艇對皮爾斯也是一個很好的選擇，不僅提高球快艇爭冠的戰力，那裡還有他的恩師瑞弗斯（Doc Rivers），而且他是在洛杉磯長大的，回家的感覺肯定不錯。不過，快艇能提供的合約相對有限，只是年薪約為多益單字表下載337萬美元左右的中產特例。
